KJ Dollhouses is run solely by Kevin Jackson, who has spent the last 20 years building real houses at exhibitions, such as The Daily Mail Ideal Home Show, and the BBC Good Home Show,
and over that time has built fully finished houses for some of the most well known names in the country, ranging from house builders and High Street stores, to well known interior designers and architects.
Being that these houses were built for exhibition and sales purposes, the exacting standards to which they had to be finished were to the highest demands.
Kevin retired in 2009, and decided to turn what had been a hobby, building 12th scale Tudor dollhouses, into a full time interest, to which, out of his own choice, he builds to his own very high standards, which has become second nature to him during his career.
Over the years Kevin has shipped houses to numerous countries, including America and several countries in Europe.
No two houses are ever the same, as Kevin does not follow any plans, but makes the designs up as he goes, which means that every house is a unique collectors item.
Kevin usually has 2 or 3 completed houses which can be bought from him, which can always be found under the Houses For Sale section of this website, but he will always welcome the opportunity of building commissioned houses to customers own specifications. This would include the opportunity for customers to choose many of the finishes to their house, and regular updates by way of photographs of their houses throughout the build, which would give them a unique record to keep, documenting the build.
Each house takes 4 to 5 weeks to complete, which customers who want to commission an order, need to bear in mind when ordering a house for a birthday or Christmas.
Although all of the houses are unique, there are certain build techniques and features which are used on all of the houses.
